Through His Eyes

Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.Rom.12:2 (MSG) Then you can see things through His eyes.

Living for Heaven

Jonathan Edwards wrote, "It becomes us to spend this life only as a journey toward heaven...to which we should subordinate all other concerns of life. Why should we labor for or set our hearts on anything else, but that which is our proper end and true happiness?"

One of Edward's life resolutions was to endeavor to obtain for himself as much happiness, in the other world, as he possibly could.

Randy Alcorn wrote in Heaven, "Satan need not convince us that Heaven does not exist. He need only convince us that Heaven is a place of boring, unearthly existance. If we believe that lie, we'll be robbed of our joy and anticipation, we'll set our minds on this life and not the next, and we won't be motivated to share our faith.

that is a good quote by Alcorn ... and that is exactly what the various tv shows, magazines, songs, etc. try to get kids to believe ... it is such a seduction for young people who are only shown the fun side of greed, lieing, living for the day, excess in all it's forms ... how do we share our faith when we are so "not cool" ...

patience, personal example and love ... to keep living it, day after day ... and hopefully the joy will come through.

I think Johnathan Edwards was a great theologian, his best work that I have heared most about is "Hands of an angry God".Its a wonderful sermon about how if we don't accept God in our hearts we will be dropped from his hands or as it says in the Bible we will be lukewarm and spit out.The life we have on Earth is merely a stepping ground intill we are able to figure out what is right.Without this knowlage we will be out of Heaven's grasp and we will be illuded from what eternal life or grace is.
